I've never posted or entered on here before, so please  forgive me if i'm doing it in the wrong place.

This is my version of a similar one on another site.

I made a ticket booth and entry facade for our 3rd annual haunted house fundraiser, The House of Nightmares at Cardinal Hills Golf Course,  hosted by the Liberty Twp. Volunteer Fire Dept. in Selma, Indiana.

I started with sheets of 4x8x1" foamboard insulation from Menards.I couldn't afford the 2" thick) Measure in 1/2"and mark the length and width on the botton, top and Right sides.

From the bottom 1/2" line, measure up 9" and put a mark at 9 & 91/2" on the left and right sides draw line across the width.. continue all the way up the board measuring 9 and 9 1/2".

Measure from right side 1/2" line in to center 2 ft. then mark 1/4" on each side of center mark.

Go back to the bottom left side and measure in and mark at 15 1/2: & 16: (to allow for 1/2 : mortar lines) all the way up in every other block (so they'll be staggard blocks) .

Measure from center out and mark at 15 1/2" and 16" in every other block all the way up the board.. I cut a window out of the center, 22 1/4" wide and used a large bucket turned upside down to form the arch at the top. Then cut out with an Exacto knife. (be sure to cut out in one solid piece to use later for a tombstone!)

When finished it should look something like this.

The window bars were made out of 3/4" pvc and 1/2" cpvc.

for each window cut

2 - 3/4" pvc 22 1/4" long, (for horizontal bars, drill 1/2" holes for vertical bars)

2 - 1/2" cpvc at 24" long

2 - 1/2" cpvc 27 1/2" long

2 - 1/2" cpvc 30 1/2" long

:

Paint black, allow to dry and add small styrofoam skulls on tops.

Use torch on the foamboard outside! THE FUMES ARE TOXIC!!!

I used a small Bernzomatic hand torch on mortar lines and to distress the blocks.

Skulls from the Dollar Tree were added around the arches and held in place with Great Stuff expanding foam, I  also drizzled Great Stuff up over the skulls for more security and added foam squiggles out from the center to form guts or snake effects.

Let Dry a couple days, it continues to expand.

I lettered the top with a font of choice, traced on and cut out with an exacto knife.

Basecoat everything with an exterior latex house paint in the color of your choice, let dry then drybrush with grey or white to bring out the detail.

I used liquid nails to attatch the foam board to 1/2" (or 1/4") plywood

A simple frame was made out of 2x4's.

Close up of detail.
