Squid Arm Tutorial

Since this is my first tutorial, I did not take pictures as I was making the project. So I will draw them out for you and hopefully you can follow along.

The first thing that I did was I got a picture frame and cut it into 8 pieces.

After that, move the pieces to the desired shape and hot glue them together.

It should look something like this.

The next thing that you are going to want to do is get news paper and start covering the frame in it. While you do this put more on the back then the front. It should look like this now.

The black part is the news paper. It should also be surrounding the frame. This is just to show how the newspaper should be surrounding the frame.

Now what you want to do is surround the news paper in tinfoil in order for the news paper to keep its shape. This will be very helpful. Here is what it should look like.

Now with the tinfoil in place paper mache the arm and let this sit utill dry. Once dry, make a batch of paper mache clay. There are plenty of tutorials out there so im not going to make one.

Now we are going to make the suckers of the arm. Roll a ball of the clay and smash it onto the arm. Don?t smash it all the way though because you are going to need it.

Now jab your finger into the middle part to make the little hole and repeat.

They should look like little craters.

When you are all done you can paint it if you would like. I found oils to work the best and give it a slimy look.
