Groundbreaker Zombunnie
Pepsi bottle (SEI) Cardboard from frozen pizza box (SEI) coathanger papier mache pulp newspaper masking tape cap sealers from OJ cartons (eyes & teeth) spray and acrylic paints fake leaf and some reptile moss
I began by cutting a 2 liter soda bottle in half and then telescoping it into itself. I tossed in a couple of rocks to weight it down a little and then taped it closed. I tightly wadded up a ball of newspaper and taped it to death then taped it to the top of the bottle.
I added the first layer of pulp mache to it and let it dry. While it was drying I cut the coat hanger into 4 pieces (2 for arms, 2 for ears). I stabbed the wires into the appropriate spots and gorilla glued them in place. I cut 2 ear shapes from the cardboard and taped those to the ear wires. To bulk up the "dirt" around him I wadded up more newspaper and taped everything in place. I sculpted the pulp mache the way I wanted it to look, added eyes and teeth and when dry spray painted the bunny part tan and the dirt brown. Details were added with the acrylic paints. Sorry there are not more pictures, I keep forgetting to take them while I'm working. Anyway here's the final pic...

I love it! This is an usual prop that I haven't seen before. Your directions are clear and the photograph is helpful. I may try to make a Zombunnie for our yard. | |
